The whole family is watching world football cup, well supplied by cola and snacks. My daughter is wearing a head band with puffy cat ears on.
Me: Why are you wearing those?Daughter: Because I am cheering for Croatia! When we were in Croatia last week, there were so many homeless cats!
Moulin Rouge - burlesque corsetWhen Fabrika Decoru announced a marathon "Around the World in 80 days", with the first stop in France, my memories went back to a fantastic trip to Paris back in 2014. Without any doubt, France is immediately being associated with Eiffel tower, Provence and shabby chic, for me - with croissant and wine as well.
However, for this challenge I wanted to create something fun, burlesque-ish and with lots of diamonds. My inspiration came from Moulin Rouge and same-titled film with Nicole Kidman. Please welcome my interpretation of the bustier, made as a small gift bag.
There are many templates to be found online for the corset, however I have adjusted mine, as it is often that lines do not match, even if scaling was done right. I have also custom made the vest.
Paper, used in this project, comes from three different collections:
- Fabrika Decoru - Sensual Love (black background with pink roses)
- Prima Marketing - Lyric Collection (black lace)
- DCWV - The Cherry Limeade (pink polka dots with glitter)
For the vest, I used Marth Steward's punch and decided not to use additional eyelets, and chose a thick black silk ribbon in order to bring some volume. Inside, I put a black organza bag, which could eventually contain a money gift. Straps are handmade by stitching pink organza and black cotton ribbons together.
The corset if furthermore embellished by lace and "diamonds", just as girls like.
In the background of this photo, there is my France album.
