Happy Easter - according to the orthodox calendar of 2019!
Fabrika Decoru has presented a great opportunity to take part in the "Easter marathon", and the final challenge was to create a scrapbooking project associated with "Easter egg".
Easter egg - papmaché and mixed media
Luckily, catholic Easter is earlier than orthodox, thus my kids have already enjoyed their treats :-) I was just waiting for my daughter to unpack one of the Easter eggs… so that I could have the shell :-)
I covered the plastic shell with toilet paper, just like papmaché technique, added some twine and other fabric and covered with Gesso. Once it was dry, I applied modelling paste though a couple of stencils. Then, I sprayed the whole rainbow on the egg. As the colours turned out to be brighter than I expected, I toned them down with a sponge, dipped in gesso.
One side I embellished with cute wooden hen (from Rema 1000), lace and a feather.
The other side is primarily embellished with DIY paper flowers (the same I used for the watering can) and chipboards from Fabrika Decoru. Lots of sequins are hidden behind the flowers.
Flowers, just like the egg itself, were kept in pastel colours.
And just a couple of photos from different angles
Thank you for stepping by, wish you a great day ahead!
I would like to enter this Easter project for the fourth Easter challenge from Fabrika Decoru
