I got married young, and there is a significant difference in age between me and my husband. However, heart has no age, right?
My husband was once picking our daughter up from the day care, which was close by a retirement home. One could often see older people walking slowly around, enjoying the weather. One was driving an electrical scooter that day. In DK it is basically a chair on wheels, powered by the battery, comfortable for people having difficulties walking.
- What is it, daddy?, my daughter asked.
- It is an electric scooter, father replied. When I get old, I will buy one of those.
- Daddy, but you are old!
My husband was 43 at that time........
In general, I find masculine cards challenging. I associate them with specific colours, textures and forms. I wanted to build this card with the theme "jeans" and stars. I had a pair of jeans, that were released from their duty after many years of loyal service. And I found a collection of Panduro papers with stars, as well as brand new Pebbles Americana paper pad.
As I was planning to have a black background, I added some black film stripes to stand out and frame the composition. Huge brand-new paper pad opened, 12x12 page torn just to add a little stripe of the American flag. Scrapaholics - you know what I mean?
You are so cool
The final card had to carry a slight touch of magic and Christmas - red accents, that go well together with the American theme. The background was stamped with film stripes and stitched circles.
For the card, I used black A4 cardstock, folded in the middle and at the bottom - simple way to create a "money envelope".
Thank you for stopping by, wish you a lovely day ahead!
I would like to enter this card for:
