It took me a long time to come back into the scrapbooking world after winter break. But the muse of inspiration is back!
Here is my take on the round birthday card. The card is supposed to be masculine, that is why I chose dark blue cardstock for the base.
By the way, maybe you have already discovered the trick. It just hit me - if you cut the bottom of the A4 cardstock and fold the rest, only one sheet can be used for the entire card!
Card is multi-layered with embossed chipboards and different die cuts.
As the card is for my grandfather, who turns 90 this year, I added flowers. These are foamiran white flowers, distressed with ink to match the base tone of the background. Not on purpose, but the pallette turned out to be blue and yellow - national colours of Ukraine, where I come from, and where my grandfather still lives.
The leaves are formed from white clay, destressed with two shades of ink. The clay is light, and thus can keep the weight of the composition down. As the final touch, I spread white gesso randomly with a kitchen sponge.
Thank you for stepping by, wish you a great day ahead!
