The spring is here - that is a fact, that does not need to be proved by a groundhog! It is in the sky, it is in the air, it is in the purple-orange mornings, it is in the bright sun and sea breeze. Feeling of the upcoming spring gives me a new charge of energy, new ideas and inspiration.
A special place in my heart...
This tag is for a very special person in my life. The one, who has guided me through happy and sad days. The one, who has watched over me, like a guardian angel, since I could only crawl. The one, who could cheer me up, the one who gave me confidence, the one who would always remain proud of me... my grandfather.
The idea behind the tag was to build it up with pastel water colour background, give it soft colours of spring, give it tenderness and gentleness, make it delicate, almost fragile.
I applied a small amount of gesso onto the white tag, in order to make the distress ink colours stand out. Layout is built from a cotton stripe, cheese cloth, flowers, which I slightly distressed with yellow, and die cuts of different shapes. Wreath and a couple of leaves were embossed with gold powder by a heat gun.
To finish up and tie the colours together, few additional random splashes of water colour and golden drops in the corners were added.
Spring was depicted in my tag by soft colours: yellow, faded pink. In order to create a contrast, golden wreath and leaves stand out, bringing a sparkle into the overall look.
Materials (selection of..)
* Flowers - Prima flowers, distressed, and a couple from E-bay
* Stamp - light touch of a text for the background
* Embossing powder & Embossing ink pad
* Ribbons - crinkled seam binding, slightly distressed with Tattered rose ink pad. And a cotton stripe, that actually comes from an old blouse. I like to give things a second life.
Wish you all a wonderful day and hope you enjoyed reading.
