My daughter was invited for a play date. Usually we are lazy, and take the car. That particular day I just returned from the gym, full of rushing power, awake (it was Saturday morning) and ready to stay active throughout the day. I suggested to take a walk.
- Mommy, my daughter says. I know, that when we walk alongside the road, I should go closer to the ditch and you should walk beside me.
- And why is that?, I asked.
- Because if something happens, than I am protected. Kids have to live their lives, - she proclaimed.
- What about me, sweety?, I asked astonished, with slightly round eyes.
- You have already had your life, mommy!
There it was, terribly good road awareness from my daughter and reflection back to my life. 33 years, and that is seen as a closed chapter! :-)
Happiness is homemade
I was lucky to get a stash of Tilda collection from Panduro Outlet. I guess they run out of stock because of me. I was nourishing a dream for some time to create an album from scratch.
The tutorial on the pages can be found here. Tutorial itself is in Russian, however it is easy to follow the steps visually. For the soft cover, I used a different tutorial. It is important to choose thick cardstock for the durable and child-hands-everywhere-proof album.
The main collection for the pages is "Happiness is homemade". Edges of the soft cover are stitched, as well as embellishments and laces. The album is kept in soft, pastel pallette, very girly and light.
The size of the album is 20 x 20 cm (8"x8"), which can easily contain 50 photos of 9x13 cm format. Maximum capacity is 80 photos, due to pockets and envelops, and if one chooses to place photos on both sides.
Some of the fabric from Tilda were tied up by a ribbon. I used this ribbon for the closure of the album, adding some embellishments from "The magical toy store".
The album has 5 inserted cardstocks, which gives 6 double-sided spreads, or 12 individual pages.
Here you can see all the pages in details. WARNING! Lots of photos ahead!
In the album, I used magnets, ribbons, eyelets and brads. I tried to keep both pages on the same spread in a similar style. Below are both full spreads, as well as close up shots to dive into the micro world of details.
Papers for the album are primarily from "Happiness is homemade". Embellishments and die cuts from "Flower decor", "The magical toy store", "The corner shop", "Thread and button tags".
For those, who made it through the long post, hereby a video.
Thank you for stopping by, wish you a lovely day ahead!
